| 义肢 prosthesis | Artificial limbs that are attached and used to restore the shape and function of original limbs a part of which has been lost due to amputation. |
| 矫形器 orthosis | Auxiliary devices to be used to mitigate dysfunction of limbs and trunk. |
| 关节 joint | Parts of prosthesis and orthosis that are structured to bend, expand, adduct, abduct and rotate in order to perform their intended functions. |
| 支柱 upright, bar | Metallic or plastic pillars of orthosis that are profiled to a body to bear the external force, deformation correction or prevention of orthosis and that serve as a foundation of joints, other components and accessories. |
| 近位支持 proximal support | Devices to support the body weight mainly at the hip-bone or patellar tendon. |
| 断端支持 distal support | Devices to support the body weight mainly at the distal end (cut end) of cut limbs. |
