半纤维素是一类聚合的、支链的碳水化合物，由C5和C6单糖（如木糖、甘露糖）组成的混合物，通常与木质素结合存在于植物细胞壁中，可通过稀酸煮沸水解成单糖单元，是纤维素以外的主要碳水化合物成分。
