脱碳层是从零件表面到碳含量等于基体碳含量的那一点的距离，包括部分脱碳和全脱碳；在直接搪瓷用钢生产中，通过固相或液相处理去除钢材表面碳以降低氢渗透性并防止鳞爆缺陷；弹簧表面因热处理导致碳含量降低的层，深度受严格限制。
