部分放电是指仅在导体之间部分桥接绝缘的局部电气放电，可能发生也可能不发生紧邻导体。这种发生在绝缘系统中的局部击穿现象不导致绝缘整体贯穿，但可能指示绝缘缺陷，表现为仅部分击穿导体之间绝缘层的电气放电。
