评定等级是依据特定标准对对象进行的分级体系。在试验精度方面，分为精密度级、1级、2级、3级；在种公鹿评定中，根据体形、外貌、产茸量和体重等指标进行综合等级划分，并依据外形特征、生产性能和遗传特性对湖羊进行分级；在文化领域，依据评定总分划分为AAAAA（≥950分）、AAAA（≥900分）、AAA（≥800分）三个等级；在旅游领域，则划分为一星至五星五个等级，对应不同的总分和“六有”分值要求；此外，也用于描述活塞表面状态（如清洁、变色、黑色、积碳等）的评级标准，每个等级对应特定的评分因子。
