磨耗是固体材料与另一固体、粉体或流体发生接触并相对运动时，由于机械作用（如滑动、摩擦、冲击、滚动）导致材料自表面逐渐脱离的现象；变现在磨损（abrasion）和冲蚀（erosion）两种形式，是评定纸品、涂层、齿轮、轮胎和生物组织等耐久性的综合指标。
