盐是主体化学成分为氯化钠的物质。在原油中，盐以氯化钠（NaCl）形式存在，覆盖范围从0.0005%到0.15%（m/m）；在此测试方法中，盐指水溶性无机卤化物，以氯化钠的质量百分比表示；通过电位滴定法测定。在剑麻纤维制品中，盐指通过灰化、洗涤、过滤等步骤提取出的盐类物质。
