生产试验是指在接近大田生产条件下，进一步验证区试中表现较优良的品种（系）的丰产性、稳定性、适应性、抗逆性等生产过程的试验。具体包括：从当前生产中选取样本，按规定间隔重复进行的选定试验，以确认产品质量和性能持续符合要求；在接近生产田的条件下，多点进行的较大面积的品种试验；在新设计和经重大改进的产品鉴定时，用于考核样机在使用条件下的可靠性、经济性、适用性及性能的稳定性的试验。
