熔炼是在熔炼炉中通过冶金加工获得液态金属的过程，一次熔炼对应一次倒入铸件的炉次，又称重熔、次熔、炉次或次炉次。通过消耗性电极熔炼工艺制造钢材的方法，确保材料纯净度和性能均匀性。它指从同一炉次中浇铸的所有铸件，也指从多个炉次中取出并在同一容器中混合后浇注的金属。在熔炼炉（或装置）中将炉料进行冶金加工以获得液态金属的过程。
