消息传输系统（MTS）是消息处理系统（MHS）的核心组成部分，由多个分布式的消息传输代理（MTA）以存储转发方式协同工作，负责将消息从发件人传输到收件人。该系统在CDPD网络中提供增值网络服务，符合CCITT X.400标准。
