水分利用效率是产量与施入水量的比率；作物消耗单位体积水所制造的干物质质量，是表示作物水分吸收利用过程效率的一个指标；作物生产的经济产量与作物整个生长期间消耗的水量之比，单位kg/m?或kg/hm?.mm，作物整个生长期间消耗水量包括降水、灌溉水和土壤储水；净光合速率与蒸腾速率的比值，反映树种节水能力的指标；单位面积作物消耗单位水量所形成的产量；在作物生育期内，单位水消耗所获得的经济产量，亦称水分生产力。
