屏幕亮度是从（就座的）观众视角观察到的屏幕亮度水平，是投影系统性能的关键指标，受屏幕表面光学特性和投影角度影响。通常以坎德拉每平方米（cd/m?）或英尺朗伯（fL）为单位测量，室内影院和审片室以24帧/秒放映电影拷贝时的标准为准。
