冬孢子是锈菌等真菌产生的休眠孢子，具有厚壁、深色、形状多样（如长椭圆形、倒卵形）的特征，常围绕夏孢子堆形成有光泽的棕褐色非粉状脓疱。由双核菌丝产生，可单细胞或多细胞，是小麦秆锈菌等在寄主表皮下排列成单层栅栏状的特征性结构。冬孢子常集结成团，易分离或坚固不离，外层有浅色较小不孕细胞包围，其形态学特征是病原菌鉴定依据之一。此外，稻：诜鄄【谏勰┳春裨咦，而腥黑穗病菌的冬孢子呈球形、椭圆形或不规则形，具网状饰纹和无色到淡色的胶质鞘，是小麦矮腥黑穗病菌的主要传播形式和鉴定依据。
